C-TEC’s BS 5839-1 fire detection and alarm system installation and commissioning course provides practical application information on how to comply with both BS 5839-1 and BS 7671 in the context of fire systems and includes the handover and acceptance of systems. Special emphasis is placed on how the engineer can deal with issues not covered by the design of the system and the non-conformities which may arise. Delegates also complete a practical application on the installation and commissioning of a fire system to the requirements of BS 5839-1 to an agreed specification. Topics covered include:

Delegates will be assessed at the end of the course and a certificate of achievement worth 8 CPD hours will be presented to all those who pass. On successful completion of all C-TEC’s BS 5839-1 courses, learners can then choose to sit an exam to gain an industry-recognised qualification through FireQual, the specialist awarding body for the fire protection sector in the UK.
